Brothers and Sisters:

On the afternoon of July 9, 2017 North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District Captain Bruce Hicks was critically injured in a motor vehicle accident in Reno. Captain Hicks had just returned a rental vehicle after being on a wildland fire as a single resource in Utah. His wife, Cindy was also in the vehicle and sustained minor injuries. Captain Hicks is a 19- year veteran of NLTFPD and an active member of Incline Village Crystal Bay Firefighters Local 2139.

Captain Hicks is currently in the Renown Regional Medical Center Sierra ICU and his Doctors advise that he will remain there for weeks to come.

NLTFPD and Local 2139 are asking help from Brothers and Sisters in the local community to assist in posting watch to provide a presence and support him and his family during this difficult time.

A webpage has been created for uniformed personnel to sign-up for two-hour shifts in the hospital. Please see the link below.
